let the evening slip away...

Yesterday we had a full day of fun adventures. We headed to Oaks Park , the rather cheesy amusement park that is an absolute must-visit if you have spent any time in Portland during the summers. It's definitely a tradition for the locals.

Jacob was pretty adventurous this time around, going on the Tilt-a-Whirl (much to my dismay) and the roller coaster (much better). We had a chance to hang out with a friend, too, which felt good to get back to after being away for a month.

Come evening, we did something very unlike us and went out after dinner. With the evening light lasting until nine, we took the train to the zoo for their Sunset at the Zoo event. Activities for the kids, crepuscular animals, beer and ice cream and a concert. Very nice. We got ourselves out and about doing something different and ran the boy down. The past few nights he's been awake until ten anyway, in his bed but calling us up again and again and again.....

It was nice to spend the long evening together on a little family adventure.

  1. This sounds like such a great day!! It's fun to see what moms with kids who are a bit older are up to so that I can keep my idea well full. Thanks so much for your wonderful comment on Momsicle. It's always delightful to meet another PDX blogger! I hope our paths cross in real life sometime!
